EDMONTOSAURUS JAW
The Edmontosaurus jaw is a fossilized part of the skull from Edmontosaurus, a large herbivorous dinosaur that lived during the Late Cretaceous period, around 70 to 66 million years ago. Edmontosaurus was a hadrosaur, or "duck-billed" dinosaur, known for its flat, wide snout and rows of hundreds of tightly packed teeth in its jaw. These teeth were ideal for grinding tough plant material.
The jaw of an Edmontosaurus is significant for its large dental battery, which allowed the dinosaur to chew food efficiently, something rare among dinosaurs. Fossils of Edmontosaurus, including jaws, have been found in North America, providing insights into its diet and behavior.
